If you win the local election and you are the mayor of Liverpool, will you assure the people of Norris green a bright and honest future with funding for more children in need, a new local kids club or youth club at scargreen avenue field possible new 4G astro turf pitches, new and safe places to go for the vulnerable to violence and falling into a position of illegal ways of making money ? I voted labour. Can you promise my vote if I did for you would not be wasted. Thank you
I have seen that you are opposed to the filling in of the Waterloo dock. Can I therefore ask if you are in favour of the new Everton stadium at Bramley Moore dock. Many thanks.
I delivered to the L8 streets on my list on Saturday. I have an unopened pack and about 40 leaflets left, as so many flats were inaccessible. Do you want to give me more streets, L8 or L17? If not I will return leaflets to your office.
Hey Stephen,
What are your positions on trans rights, and on the fact pavements and roadways in Liverpool fall woefully short of even the most lax disability accessibility standards?
I am open to the idea of an independent mayor of Liverpool. I was mainly wondering what your opinion on pushing for a Universal Basic Income Trial in Liverpool would be?
I was also wondering, could you remove the blue from your colour scheme? Don’t want any of that Tory business around my City.
Also, in that picture of you by the waterfront with a fresh scoop is that a Rolex you are wearing? If so, what type, looks pretty god damn glorious.
Big fan of the KIND charity, fantastic job on setting up support for the children of our city.
As you will be aware, Liverpool was scheduled to host the Electronic Warfare Europe event – essentially an arms fair – at the City Council owned Exhibition Centre Liverpool, part of ACC Liverpool, in 2020.
Following the cancellation of the event, largely due to a vigorous campaign, the Council’s Audit and Governance Select Committee voted to create an ethical charter for all City Council owned buildings; this approach was supported by the Mayor.
In recent weeks, it has come to light that a rebranded event, organised by AOC Europe, has re-booked the Exhibition Centre Liverpool for the arms fair. Enquiries confirm that there is no ethical charter in place, nor is there any progress towards creating one.
Would you confirm that, following the elections on 6th May, you will:
1. Vote to oppose the event which is scheduled to take place from 11-13th October 2021? And
2. Actively campaign against the event?
3. Work with officers and other councillors to create an ethical charter for all City Council owned buildings to stop such events from being held in future.
I appreciate this is a busy time for you but would appreciate your early attention by emailing your response to:
Good evening Stephen can we keep the pub and make sure it is kept as it is and also build a hotel or have a old train on the park that did food would be attraction for the city
I am very inclined to vote for you – I think you could be great for this city – but would like to ask what your position is on preserving single-sex spaces in public areas (for the sake of female privacy, safety, child-safeguarding, and not to mention for the sake of religious women, victims of sexual abuse etc). The Labour Party in Liverpool were really enthusiastic about introducing ‘gender’-neutral spaces and were very, very hostile towards women who raised legitimate concerns – we were blithely called ‘bigots’ for raising common-sense objections; the Lib Dems equally so (they are perhaps even worse, to be honest!) I couldn’t in good conscience vote for either party, even as a second choice.
For me, and other women I know, it is a huge issue. Do you have a policy on this?
We wish you every success in the upcoming election and would appreciate your thoughts.
I am writing to express my concern for the state of the streets within the Liverpool Council Area. I wish to address the following areas:
Litterbins – The litter bins are not being emptied often enough, resulting in an overflow or waste being left lying about beside them. As a result, rats ripping the bags and pulling out the food waste. Seagulls/birds are also pulling the waste out of the top of the bins. Could the schedule for emptying of the litter bins be increased? I have researched, and some Council have installed bird proof litter bins.
Street Cleansing – The streets smell strongly of urine, and the amount of litter on the pavements and road is at an unacceptable level. During this time surely this should be a priority to ensure that hygiene is kept to a high standard.
Litter Picking – The litter picking is not being carried out in a timely manner. The streets are full of litter which, again from a hygiene point of view is not acceptable. The waste consists of paper, food, plastic, glass, dead animals, dog and bird poo. Again this is attracting the rats to the area. Can the environmental teams not do something to help control the numbers of rats in the area.
Liverpool is a classed as a World Heritage Site, and as such should be setting an example to other City that wishes to aim for the privilege of becoming a World Heritage Site.
I invite you and your Councilors to take a walk around the World Heritage Site with the eyes of a visitor. As you walk in the good weather the smell of urine assaulting your nostrils, trying to avoid the broken glass, dead animals, litter bins overflowing and ripped bin bags. I want you to realize that it is not only about the issues I am concerned about, but I am also concerned that someone may get hurt or get ill due to these issues.
I am writing to request under the Freedom of Information:
Year by year breakdown of the number of complaints made against the council’s rubbish, recycling and street cleaning services from 2011 to the present.
The types of complaints made.
The number of complaints the council responded to.
Any improvements made as a result of the complaints.
I would be grateful if you could let me know as soon as possible if you anticipate any problems with this request.
I look forward to hearing from you regarding these matters.
Dear Stephen,
You can count on our vote for the mayor elections but please can you help me with the local election, my ward is Allerton, I don’t have any independents I can vote for I refuse to vote Lib, Lab or Con, I also don’t want to waste a vote, I could ‘spoil’ my vote to show my dissatisfaction but again it’s a waste. I’ve voted Lib Dem for years but we need a shake up, locally and nationally. Maybe you could give me some good arguments for which way to vote?

Hi, can I ask where you stand on the planning application to infill West Waterloo Dock? As I nearby resident, I hope you oppose this.
Kind regards,
Mike
